About

Hi. I’m Katie.

Since you probably already know me if you’re reading my blog, and since trying to describe oneself in a few sentences is overwhelming and impossible, I won’t try to put my life story on this page.

Welcome to Everyday Hosanna.

In Hebrew, Hosanna means “save us now!” or “rescue us, we pray!”  In Scripture, Israel also uses the shout of “Hosanna” to honor the Messiah as He enters Jerusalem. I once heard a preacher observe that only to our God would a cry for help also be a cry of praise. What a beautiful duality; the tension held in this one word!  Hosanna is a a prayer for divine help, and yet conversely a shout of adoration.

May I daily find this desperate praise wherever I am: in the most humble of places and the most mundane moments. In myself and in those around me.

This blog is for sharing these moments. I invite you to join me as the life I have always known is quickly giving way to a new stage; new family members, new homes, new jobs, even new countries and languages. Journey with me through transitions and adjustments and wrestling and worshiping.

Are you ready?  I know I’m not.

Good thing He is.

Hosanna.
